Inventing Community Renewal: The Trials and Errors that Shaped the Modern Community Development Corporation
The Milano Graduate School Community Development Research Center (CDRC) at New School University proudly announces the publishing of Inventing Community Renewal. Conceived by the late Mitchell Sviridoff, this new volume gives great insights and reflections of one of community development’s most valued leaders and includes writings from other noted individuals like Franklin Thomas, Louis Winnick, and William P. Ryan, reflecting on the challenges and successes of community development history. The book explores the early leaders and members of the first generation of community development corporations (CDCs), as well as the political and social dynamics that helped or hindered their work. View Sviridoff’s complete introduction (PDF), and order the book free ($3.00 for S&H) from the Milano Graduate School CDRC website.
