Multi-Award Winning Documentary Filmmaker polishes off work on a Bold and Innovative Curriculum Workshop Program to bring Hip-Hop into USA Classrooms
Los Angeles, CA — Multi-Award Winning Filmmaker Bob Bryan has announced that he has completed the first Graffiti Verite’ Hip-Hop Curriculum Teachers Workshop Guide. The GV Hip-Hop Curriculum Teachers Workshop Guide will be simultaneously released along with the companion documentary Graffiti Verite’ 5: The Sacred Elements of Hip-Hop (Running Time: 42 Minutes). GV5 reflects all the elements of the contemporary urban Hip-hop movement, as well as, its relevant background history and special uniqueness as a multifaceted communications medium.
“I realized there was a great need for this kind of creative and multi-intelligence educational approach, in order to connect with today’s youth. Innovation and relevancy is a necessity! The Educational value in this fresh Hip-Hop Curriculum approach to communications is so high. There’s an opportunity here to tap into the dynamic learning modalities of Hip-hop, to acknowledge the different learning styles, creative intelligence’s, preoccupation and passions of our children. We can accomplish all this, while fulfilling the educational goals and objectives of our educational system. These educational goals can complement each other, and does not need to be mutually exclusive. By considering the eclectic disciplines of Hip-hop, educators can make use of this modality to spur deeper inquiry (by the students) about themselves, their potential, and the world around them, ? explains Filmmaker and Author Bob Bryan
The Graffiti Verite’ Hip-hop Curriculum Teacher’s Guide is a creative hands-on approach to channeling the four (4) elements of the contemporary Hip-hop movement (MC, DJ, Breakdance, and Graffiti Art) into a classroom environment and deepening the educational dialogue between students and educators. The curriculum should be seen as an evolving blueprint for educators to develop a practical hands-on classroom course-study or short-term workshop. In the simplest sense the guide presents some of the most up to date thinking on the Hip-hop movement by research theorists and the practitioners themselves.
Interestingly enough Mr. Bryan?s curriculum and companion documentary Graffiti Verite’ 5: The Sacred Elements of Hip-Hop was inspired by the observations and brilliant theories of “Multiple Intelligence Teaching,” championed by Dr. Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University . The GV Hip Hop Curriculum Teachers Workshop Guide and GV5 are available for immediate distribution exclusively to all educators, schools and libraries throughout the USA and Canada.
