The next publication in our “Out-of-School Time Evaluation Snapshots” series is now available on our website. This Snapshot, “Performance Measures in Out-of-School Time Evaluation,” outlines the academic, youth development, and prevention performance measures currently being used by OST programs to assess their progress, and the corresponding data sources for these measures.

The next Snapshot in the series, scheduled to be available in the beginning of April, will examine what OST programs are doing to involve families. Watch your inbox for the announcement.
You might also be interested to learn that we are also currently working on the next issue of “The Evaluation Exchange” totally devoted to OST program quality. The Spring 2004 issue of our periodical examines assessing and improving the quality of OST and youth development programs. It features articles on innovative methodologies and new technology systems for assessing quality, understanding and measuring participation in OST programs, and recruitment and retention strategies. This issue also alerts readers to some of the latest research and evaluation efforts in OST quality. The issue will be available online in mid-April at:
