Community Schools and Social Capital

Building social capital is one of the advantages community schools have over traditional schools. Popularized by Robert Putnam’s “Bowling Alone,” the social capital framework has growing cross-sector appeal and can be an attractive way to talk to policymakers about the benefits of community schools.
