New Publication: Service Learning in Community Colleges

The American Association of Community Colleges is pleased to announce its latest publication, “Service Learning in Community Colleges: 2003 National Survey Results.” This 16-page research brief summarizes and analyzes AACC’s third national survey of community college service learning initiatives and is part of its national grant project, Community Colleges Broadening Horizons through Service Learning.

The research brief highlights the many facets of service learning development, including the prevalence of service learning in community colleges; faculty, student, and community partner involvement; types and length of service activities; faculty incentives; reflection and civic responsibility components; program administration, evaluation, and funding; and student retention. Twenty-six charts and graphs illustrate the national data.
