New Findings on Latino Canvassing

CIRCLE Working Paper 10: Mobilizing the Latino Youth Vote by Melissa Michelson
has been updated with new findings. Dr. Michelson’s research indicates that one
powerful way to address the problem of low Latino voter turnout is to return to
old-fashioned personal canvassing efforts. In addition, the research suggests that Latinos are more likely to vote if contacted by another Latino than if
contacted by someone of another ethnicity.
The updated research shows that the reason Latino canvassers are more effective in mobilizing Latino voters is because they get higher contact rates. Additional findings can be found here http://www.civicyouth.org/grants/past/race_gender.htm
