Generations On Line

[CTCNet-Philadelphia list]

Because schedule changes at the conference affected workshop attendance, I want you to know about Generations on Line. It is a free tutorial program for seniors. Available in every public library in Philadelphia and most surrounding
counties plus 659 libraries, nursing homes, senior centers, retirement communities and HUD housing in 45 other states. If you know of any group that is interested in helping elders (only 16% of them use the Internet), please pass
along the information. This was launched nationally in September 2000 with US Secretary of Commerce Norman Mineta and Mayor John Street. Articles appear on website, including a piece in the Benton Foundation site.

Organizations that don’t have the program and wish to get it can apply at http://www.generationsonline.org. The kit of materials and software, including free email, for unlimited number of seniors is $350 to institutions. With a $100 annual maintenance fee in following years.

The software is available for preview by writing back to me at tobeydichter@att.net.

Thanks,
Tobey
