New Free Software: Organizers’ Database

Version 0.8.8c of Organizers’ Database, the easy-to-use database tailored to small organizations and grassroots campaigns, is now available! This version has major improvements thanks in part to our new software development volunteer, Lakshmi Shivenanda. And it should be super-stable thanks to extensive testing by two new OC interns: Estelle Dang of Mount Holyoke College and Kyla Artley of Univ. of Georgia.

Also: ODB has been making waves in recent weeks:

* In March a school committee candidate in Milton, MA beat the incumbent by a wide margin, using ODB as a tool to coordinate campaign volunteers and ID voters in the campaign’s final weeks.

* In May the Grassroots Fundraising Journal featured many articles on databases, with a write-up of ODB; ordering info is at: http://grassrootsfundraising.org

*In April techsoup.org ran a series of articles on databases including a piece by Organizers’ Collaborative. For a link please see OC’s early May email digest:
