How to plan, write and design effective educational materials
presented by Delaware Valley Chapter of Society of Nutrition Educators
Thursday, December 7,
8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Importance of Health Literacy
-About half of U.S. adults are not able to effectively use written health materials to accomplish everyday tasks related to health.
-Adults with limited literacy skills are less likely to manage their chronic diseases and more likely to be hospitalized than those with stronger skills. This leads to poor health outcomes and higher healthcare costs.
