AmeriCorps Grant Training and Technical Assistance Workshops

PennSERVE is pleased to announce the following training and technical assistance workshop opportunities being offered for those interested in the 2007-2008 Request for Applications for AmeriCorps funding. The workshops will be designed to give potential new and re-competing applicants an overview of AmeriCorps national service and the process for applying for program funding to operate an AmeriCorps program beginning August 2007.
Three regional workshops ? west, central, and east ? will be held in early November. Please see the listings below for specific dates, times, locations, and RSVP deadlines. Each workshop is free and open to any 501 c 3 nonprofit or governmental agency, including, but not limited to: community or faith-based organizations, municipalities, educational institutions, and/or local affiliates of national nonprofits. Attendance at a workshop is not required for an organization to submit an application, but it is encouraged. All applications for new and re-competing PennSERVE AmeriCorps programs are due to the PennSERVE office by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2006. The 2007-2008 application will be available through the PennSERVE website: http://www.pennserve.state.pa.us and the Pennsylvania Bulletin prior to the workshops. Hard copies will also be available at each workshop. http://www.sru.edu. Parking will be in the Alumni Lot and visitor parking passes are required. You must RSVP to secure a parking pass.
2. Eastern PA Workshop: City Year Greater Philadelphia?s Conference Room, Philadelphia
Location: Red Cross Building, 2221 Chestnut St., Second Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Time: 10:30 a.m. ? 12:00 p.m.
RSVP deadline: Friday, November 3, 2006
Directions & Parking: Directions may be obtained through Mapquest or similar website. On street metered parking and nearby paid parking lots are available.
3. Central PA Workshop: Labor & Industry?s E-100 Conference Room, Harrisburg
Location: First Floor, L & I Building, 7th & Forster Streets, Harrisburg, PA 17121
Date: Monday, November 13, 2006
Time: 2:00 ? 3:30 p.m.
RSVP deadline: Tuesday, November 7, 2006
Directions & Parking: Directions may be obtained through Mapquest or similar website. The Labor & Industry Building is located at the corner of 7th and Forster Streets; metered parking is available on the street and hourly or daily parking is available in the 7th Street Garage located diagonally across the street. Please do not try to park in the garage adjacent to the L&I Building; it is for Commonwealth employees only.
