AKMP Summer Film Series: Confronting Change and Shaping the Future
AKMP?s Summer Film Series explores different ways that three communities confronted outside threats to their neighborhoods. The films document how communities leveraged these crises into opportunities for revitalization and, in some cases, personal growth.
Doors open at 5 p.m., film program 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday, July 26
Gayle Isa, Executive Director, Asian Arts Initiative introduces three short films documenting Philadelphia Chinatown community history. Look forward and carry on the past: Stories from Chinatown, InvAsian, Chinatown Life Stories

Monday, August 2
Miriam Camitta, Ph.D., filmmaker and folklorist, introduces a film about South Street. Crosstown Included with AKMP admission.
Monday, August 7
Anula Shetty, Philadelphia-based independent filmmaker, introduces two films about North Philadelphia?s American Street corridor. African Gardens and Life Stories from American Street. Included with AKMP admission
