Pennsylvania Sea Grant is pleased to announce a 6-hour workshop for teachers and environmental educators

Why Did the Water Turn Green?

Temple University Main Campus

This lab, classroom, and field workshop will present a series of middle and upper school science activities to teach about the impact of excess nutrients on aquatic systems. Experiments will demonstrate inquiry-based approaches to plant and animal nutrition topics as they simulate the impact of nutrient pollution and eutrophication. Activity-based experiments will foster a better understanding of natural and disturbed aquatic systems by developing critical thought processes using scientific methodology. Snacks, lunch, chemical test strips, and many other educational materials will be provided.

This workshop is free, but participants must pre-register.
