The Urban Sustainability Forum
A public forum focusing on important issues facing Philadelphia with the goal of making Philadelphia the greenest, most livable city in America.
High energy costs. Congested traffic. Fractured communities. Pollution and sprawl. What will the Philadelphia of the future be? Join us for an important series of programs that will examine the social, economic, quality of life and environmental future of the City of Philadelphia.
Some of the city’s most prominent organizations have joined together in an unprecedented coalition to sponsor the Urban Sustainability Forum. The forum will be held each month from January to June of 2006. The schedule of programs will be:
Mon. Feb. 6, 2006 SPECIAL EVENING with Jaime Lerner former Mayor of the
?Worlds Most Sustainable City?, Curitiba Brazil
Thurs. Feb. 16, 2006 Directing the Flow: Managing the Philadelphia?s Water
Thurs. Mar. 16, 2006 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Revisioning Waste Management in Philadelphia.
Thurs. Apr. 20, 2006 Greene Country Towne: The Future of Philadelphia Land Use Planning
Thurs. May 18, 2006 Redeveloping Healthy Philadelphia Neighborhoods
Thurs. June 15, 2006 Goals & Actions for a Sustainable Philadelphia
All programs will run from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm and will be held at The Academy of Natural Sciences auditorium. 1900 Ben Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia.
