The Culture of Sustainability — Evolving Toward a Sustainable Society on Nov 16

Sponsored by the Sustainable Society Action Project (SSAP) in collaboration with Alliance a Sustainable Future (ASF), Concerned Citizens of the Delaware Valley (CCDV), Delaware Valley Sustainability, Philadelphia Futurists, and the Sustainable Transportation Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania.

SSAP conferences are serious efforts to explore the problem of sustainability, and discuss possible programs that might help evolve a sustainable world. Sustainability means alternatives to the present social and economic policies that would prevent such damage to the Planet Earth that our industrial civilization would collapse. This conference will deal with the culture of a sustainable future, including the economy, the sociology, and patterns of land use and transportation. In addition, the conference will also feature original works of art, songs and poems, dealing with sustainability.

Sunday, November 16, 2003, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM Registration is at 12:30 PM. Room B-3 — ground floor of Meyerson Hall, University of Pennsylvania. on 34th Street between Walnut and Spruce Streets in Philadelphia.

General Admission: $20; seniors and students $10. Refreshments included.
