The Center for Intergenerational Learning Releases National Report on the Civic Engagement of Older Immigrants and Refugees
Community Treasures: Contributions of Older Immigrants and Refugees, a new report by Temple University’s Center for Intergenerational Learning illustrates the spectrum of ways that immigrant and refugee elders connect and contribute to their communities. Made possible by a grant from MetLife Foundation, this report analyzes the motivations of immigrant elders engaged in civic roles and highlights the promising practices and strategies for supporting immigrant elders’ civic engagement. The report is produced as part of the center’s Civic Engagement for All initiative that seeks to understand and promote the inclusion of diverse segments of the 50+ population in civic roles.
