“My American Dream,” Our Democracy in Action
Sunday, June 30, 1:00-3:00pm at Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park,
Part of Neighborhood of Nations, presented by Sunoco Welcome America!
What does it mean to be a good American citizen? Voting, waving the flag, keeping yourself informed, volunteering, getting an education, protesting against injustice, advocating for a good cause?
This Citizen Academy program is an excellent opportunity to discuss with others what this country means to you and what it means to be a good citizen. Lillian Swanson, Reader’s Advocate at the Philadelphia Inquirer is one of the featured presenters. People of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and nationalities are invited to come share their American Dreams. Join with others who are as eager to put their principles into practice as you are and leave inspired to carry the spirit of July 4th forth throughout the year!
Citizen Academy is Philadelphia Cares’ School for Social Action, educating, inspiring and sustaining new volunteer projects and campaigns addressing critical social, environmental needs of the Greater Philadelphia region.
