Youth Summit on Technology and Service-Learning
Friday, June 14, 2002, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
J.F.Kennedy Center, 734 Schuylkill Avenue, Philadelphia

The Youth Summit on Technology and Service-Learning will offer a host of student-led workshops focused on the theme of technology and service-learning. An exhibit area will also be available for students and teachers to explore and find ideas and materials.
Everyone is welcome to attend! We are also looking for student and student-teacher teams to share how they are integrating technology with service-learning.
Possibilities include:
-Demonstrate how community technology needs have been addressed through service-learning. For example, leading a workshop explaining how students are refurbishing computers or teaching computer classes for community members.
-Use technology to present a multi-disciplinary or service-learning project of any topic. For example, using a Power Point presentation to explain how students have explored the concern for conservation and cleanup of water in the community.
-Demonstrate how technology is used to facilitate a multi-disciplinary or service-learning project. For example, leading a workshop explaining how students used a database to keep track of the community partners they are working with.
-Set up a display in the exhibit area, providing multi-disciplinary/service-learning ideas and/or resources to attendees. For example, setting up a table where participants came come by to view a digital video featuring the activities of a youth-driven service-learning center.
