Volunteers needed, Trash 2 Treasure Sale
Posted by United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey on May 5, 2014
Trash 2 Treasure benefits UWGPSNJ Impact Fund
From June 13th to the 16th, the annual Trash 2 Treasure yard sale at Swarthmore College will be filled with community members looking to get a bargain on items donated by students at the end of the academic year.
All proceeds from the sale will benefit United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey’s Impact Fund. Through the Impact Fund, United Way develops strategies to address the region’s challenges related to education, income and health. From there, United Way invests in local organizations that drive results to ensure children succeed in school, families are financially stable and our communities’ health and basic needs are met. Trash 2 Treasure even prevents 23 twenty-yard dumpsters from the local waste stream per year!
United Way is seeking volunteers on June 9–15 to help sort donations from refrigerators to furniture to dishware after Swarthmore students return home for the summer.
All unsold items will be donated to the local Goodwill.
For more information and to sign up to volunteer, email Doreen Storey at dstorey@uwgspnj.org or call 484-482-1953.
