2014 IARSLCE Awards
IARSLCE is pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the following 2014 awards, details of which may be found at http://www.researchslce.org/awards-nominations/. Awardees will be recognized at the 2014 IARSLCE conference in New Orleans, September 29 – October 1, 2014. For details about the conference, please visit http://www.researchslce.org/conferences/.
The Distinguished Research Award recognizes any researcher who has a distinguished record of research and scholarly contributions on service-learning and community engagement.
The Early Career Research Award recognizes outstanding early career contributions to scholarship on service-learning and community engagement.
The Dissertation Award recognizes a dissertation that advances research on service-learning and/or community engagement through rigorous and innovative inquiry.
Ten $500 Graduate Student Scholarships are provided by the Association on a competitive basis for support to attend the conference. One of those ten is especially for an international graduate student who is not based in the US.
All award nominations are due May 30, 2014.
New this year: IARSLCE invites members to participate in one of the committees that select the recipients for the three awards the Association will confer this year. This year, each committee will be comprised of 2 board members, 2 past award recipients, and up to 3 IARSLCE members in good standing (provided there are enough member volunteers who are interested in serving).
Ideal selection committee members will have a record of research in the areas of service-learning or community engagement, have been involved with the Association for two or more years, and have no conflicts of interest with regard to the awards or nominees.
If you are interested in serving, please submit to Tara Luparello your name, cv, brief description of your previous involvement with IARSLCE, and your committee preference: a) dissertation award, b) early career award, or c) distinguished research award. Note, committee members should not have nominated anyone for the award category they wish to judge.
