ABOUT THE POSITION
LIFT-Philadelphia is seeking passionate leaders who embody the LIFT mission to join our team by serving as AmeriCorps Member Service Fellows. Member Service Fellows have a primary responsibility of managing, supporting and coaching LIFT’s volunteers, or Advocates, during their time at LIFT. In addition, Member Service Fellows provide exceptional service to LIFT’s clients, called Members, by helping Members find jobs, secure housing, enroll in public benefits, and obtain referrals for services like childcare and healthcare. At least three Member Service Fellows staff each LIFT office and report to the regional Program Manager.
The position is a two-year commitment. Preference will be given to candidates who commit to the full two years of service; however, we will consider outstanding candidates who can only commit to one year of service.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Advocate Management and Support
- Manage and coach a diverse corps of volunteers, or Advocates, in providing high quality Member service, ensuring a welcoming environment and maintaining a smooth flow of office operations
- Oversee and support Advocate leadership teams
- Ensure proper utilization of case management and other database systems
- Analyze and report successes and outcomes of Members’ goals
- Co-facilitate New Volunteer Advocate trainings and other related trainings
Member Services
- Work one-on-one with community Members to find jobs, secure safe and stable housing, enroll in public benefits, file tax credits, and obtain referrals for services like childcare and healthcare
- Coordinate Member appreciation events
Resource Development and Outreach
- Research and document resources for Members
- Coordinate community outreach efforts, strengthening referral partnerships
Program Support
- Assist Program Manager/Director in running the local office in support of quality Member Service
- Participate in trainings that address local and national poverty issues
