Job description
Maternity Care Coalition (MCC), a dynamic $8M nonprofit, works to improve maternal and child health and well-being through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities.
The Parent Engagement Associate (PEA) will provide general support and training to parents in the Early Head Start program. The PEA is responsible for organizing monthly parent meetings which provided resources and workshops for program parents. The PEA is also responsible for maintaining and supporting EHS male involvement initiative. The Parent Engagement Associate will assist enrolled families in their efforts to improve the condition and quality of life and access critical health and human services. The PEA will provide support and education for maintaining good health and promoting child development. Services extended to families may also include counseling, referrals, educational and recreational programming, crisis intervention and advocacy. The PEA coordinates and delivers services to center based families as well as to families transitioning into other programs and/or service delivery options. The PEA is expected to provide services to families of up to 48 children enrolled in EHS classroom programs.
We seek a motivated individual who is knowledgeable about community resources, and has strong written and verbal skills. Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field, or background in case management; a valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required. Self-directed; flexible; good record keeping and organizational skills; ability/experience helping families set and achieve goals; ability to work well in groups.
