Project Manager, Sparking Solutions, Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia
Sparking Solutions is Philanthropy Network’s initiative to promote and foster collaborative philanthropy that improves conditions, creates opportunities and changes lives in Greater Philadelphia. The concept is central to the Network’s 2013-15 strategic plan: Sparking Solutions.
Philanthropy Network is seeking a consultant or part-time employee to plan, coordinate, document and manage all facets of the Sparking Solutions initiative. The Project Manager will report to the Executive Director. The position is new and is grant funded.
In 2013, the Executive Director worked with a Task Force of Network members to develop an initial strategy framework to guide development of the initiative. The initiative had a “soft launch” at the Network’s Fall Conference, with an exploration of five priority regional issues (grade-level reading, health care access, homelessness prevention and intervention, hunger and healthy eating and youth safety) and solutions around which philanthropy can play a catalytic role. Backed by the Board of Directors, the Task Force will continue to lead and advise on development and execution of the Sparking strategy aimed at positioning Philanthropy Network as a hub for learning, information, communication and action on designated issues critical to the well-being of our region.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will have a unique opportunity to establish and advance implementation of Philanthropy Network’s signature Sparking Solutions initiative. S/he will be an advocate for the initiative and will work to achieve awareness and participation among members and relevant external stakeholders. S/he will plan and deliver Sparking-related educational programs and communications in coordination with Philanthropy Network staff, and provide support to the Sparking Task Force. The Project Manager will help identify, form, support and maintain Sparking partnerships, document associated member and community investments and activities and conduct regular communications with members and other participants. The Project Manager will help develop and supervise any sub-contracted Sparking-related work, including research and reporting, and assist in securing resources to sustain the initiative. S/he will participate in evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of the Sparking initiative and recommend strategy and process adjustments and future agenda topics.
