Creating place-based and community-connected youth engagement experiences

For over 15 years GRuB has been running agriculture-based ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, & DROP-OUT PREVENTION PROGRAMS that engage local teens in land & community-based projects, working to break cycles of hunger, poverty, inequality, and oppression. From 2001-2009, only 41% of youth entered
our program on-track to graduate. Today, OVER 91% HAVE GRADUATED OR EARNED THEIR GED!

NOW, in partnership with the Olympia School District, GRuB successfully created a SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAM where students attend GRuB School for ½ of their day, earning core credits while they develop life skills, engage with their community and become leaders for positive social change.

THE INSTITUTE :

This 3 day institute is a relationship-rich, hands-on experience offering powerful youth engagement tools, established program design, strategies for strong partnerships, and a manual detailing GRuB’s Cultivating Youth Employment Program and the new GRuB School model. Most importantly, you will walk away with a tangible sense of the culture and environment that makes the GRuB model successful.
