Penn Treaty Soup: Raising Money One Bowl at a Time

From PHENND VISTA Caitlin Roman:
I’m excited to say that the school year at Penn Treaty is progressing well. Our seniors are starting to receive their first college acceptance letters (!!!!!), we have several exciting new partnerships, and we’re planning a big fundraiser which I’d like to invite you to attend…
Penn Treaty Soup: Raising Money One Bowl at a Time
Saturday, January 11, 2014, 1pm – 3pm
600 E. Thompson Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125
Student Tickets: $5, Adult Tickets: $10
Being as that this is Penn Treaty’s first year as a 6-12 school, our Student Activities Fund is spread a bit thin. 11th & 12th grade students from the former Douglas and Carroll High Schools spent a lot of time and energy fundraising for events such as junior/senior proms and class trips; however, unfortunately most of the funds raised were lost in the shuffle when the schools were closed and the students dispersed to various other schools around the city.
In light of these events Penn Treaty is partnering with the local non-profit organization, PhilaSoup, to host a luncheon in an effort to raise funds for student activities & projects. Attendees will be served lunch and dessert, donated by local businesses and Penn Treaty staff, and PT students will present their project proposals which attendees will then vote on. The majority of the proceeds will go directly towards the Student Activities Fund, but a portion of the money will be set aside to fund the top 3 projects.
We would be delighted if you could join us for lunch to help support Penn Treaty. Donations can also be made in lieu, or in addition to attendance.
