Bookstore Operations Intern, Tree House Books

Internship description
“For me, the best thing about interning for Tree House was working in such a tranquil, hopeful environment alongside people who have a true passion for improving the lives of community members. Tree House is all about empowerment and education, about community and hope, and even as the bookstore intern with no direct interaction with the students, I could just feel that good things were happening. Working in a primarily low-income, African-American neighborhood was a new experience for me; it put me out of my comfort zone, but I believe that is the only way to grow and develop as a competent and compassionate human being. Tree House taught me about life, literature, what it means to work as a team and the power of positive change in one’s community.” -Emily Young, Arcadia ’14, Fall 2013 intern
