JOB DESCRIPTION – Pro Bono Case Manager, LawWorks Project
Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono in Philadelphia, recruits, trains, and supports volunteer attorneys who provide free legal services to low-income clients.
VIP seeks a Pro Bono Case Manager for LawWorks, its community economic development project. This position will engage and support volunteer attorneys who are representing clients facing homelessness due to a delinquent mortgage or lack of clear title to their home. In addition, the Pro Bono Case Manager will work with clients to ensure that their case will succeed when matched with a pro bono lawyer.
The ideal candidate is an energetic, goal-oriented team player with excellent skills in communication (oral and written) and relationship-building, a strong interest in supporting volunteers, and a commitment to access to justice for underserved communities. The candidate should be a self-starter, attentive to detail, and successful at managing multiple assignments. The ideal candidate enjoys working with a close-knit team in a fast-paced office and embraces technology, including leading edge case management systems. Bachelor’s Degree required and MSW preferred. This position is full time and non-exempt, with generous employee benefits and a great team atmosphere.
