DPW launches webinar on changes to COMPASS
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is the federal health care reform law, signed into law by President Obama in 2010. The ACA includes over 70 mandatory requirements and changes that the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare (DPW) must implement. For the past two years, DPW has invested significant resources to comply with the provisions of the ACA.
Some of these mandatory provisions required changes to the COMPASS application, the state’s online system for accessing public benefits. In order to inform the public of these changes, DPW has created an informational webinar which provides background on the ACA and the changes to COMPASS. To view the webinar, go here.

The new COMPASS application will be available on October 1st here.

Any applications that were started in the COMPASS system prior to 11pm on Sept. 27th, but not completed, will be purged and applicants will be required to start the application process over.
