Full-Time Adult Education Teacher
Community Learning Center, an outcome-oriented nonprofit adult literacy organization in Philadelphia, seeks a full-time teacher.
Responsibilities may include:
- Teaching reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science to build adult learners’ skills so that learners can advance to GED level classes and then earn a GED
- Teaching English as a Second Language
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate and timely attendance, assessment, goal, and other data
- Preparing student-centered, contextualized lessons
- Attending professional meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Experience teaching adults preferred
- Experience and/or training in teaching reading preferred
- Experience teaching English as a Second Language preferred
- Strong base of general knowledge
- Excellent organizational, writing, and computer skills
- Creativity
- Initiative
- Flexibility
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work well with diverse population
