Communications and Development Internship, Committee of Seventy
Posted by on August 26, 2013
Communications and Development Internship:
The Committee of Seventy fights for clean and effective government, fair elections and a better informed citizenry in Philadelphia and the region.
The Committee of Seventy has been called a “government watchdog,” “the elections people” and a “think tank.” In fact, we are all of these and much more.
We raise public awareness about complex issues in commonsense language that non-experts can relate to. We are willing to stand alone on tough issues or collaborate with likeminded organizations, make noise to call attention to reform opportunities or work quietly behind-the-scenes. Seventy uses its voice and influence to help provoke debate and affect real change.
Our goal is not just good government for its own sake, but fundamental change that will lead to our region’s growth.
Seventy is looking for an energetic self-starter seeking professional communication, development and non-profit experience. The intern will report directly to the Development Manager.
Responsibilities could include:
• Support the redesign of the organization’s website including content editing and creation and assist with the preparing of an internal website management manual
• Assist with all fundraising efforts including roll-out of an Annual Giving Campaign, events and micro-giving efforts
• Contribute to the organization’s social media presence
• Develop and enhance communication materials and other tasks as needed.
Students must show initiative, flexibility and creativity. Strong organizational, communications, writing and research skills are a must.
