Literacy Project Workshops for School District Parents

This workshop will share research-based strategies with parents to help their children become more advanced readers through talking the text, read-aloud activities, analysis of different genres and tools to motivate your child to read independently. Parents will learn how to select developmentally-appropriate reading materials and infuse culturally-relevant methods such as call and response storytelling, etc. to assist children in increasing their comprehension of the text. Parents can use these strategies to help their children complete school assignments, prepare for test, and improve study habits.
