Job description
POSITION SUMMARY

Providence Center emphasizes an asset-based approach to youth development, helping children and youth to recognize and build their strengths. We support our students to make healthy and positive choices, creating a tight-knit community of learners and leaders who strive to achieve their full potential and assist their peers to do the same.

Providence Center’s youth programs include an after school program, Teen Mentors, and a summer camp. Our after school program serves children in grades K-6 (with the possibility of expanding through 8th grade). Many of our students are English-language learners, and we provide academic assistance as well as a comprehensive social and emotional learning curriculum. The after school program is supported by Teen Mentors, local bi-lingual high school students who assist with the children and learn to act as positive role models and leaders. The Teen Mentors also receive support to complete high school and pursue their educational and vocational goals. In the summer, Providence Center is partnering with Temple University to offer a summer camp that serves English language learners while providing ESL field experience to aspiring teachers.

The Director of Youth Programs will be responsible for the planning, implementation, supervision, and assessment of Providence Center’s after school program and Teen Mentors. In addition, the Director will support and provide leadership for the summer camp.
