The Extraordinary Has Become Ordinary: Medical Preparedness for Disasters
Friday, May 17th: 12 Noon
Hurricane Katrina, Joplin, Missouri, and Superstorm Sandy…The mega-storm is becoming more common, and unusual emergency circumstances may be a regular occurrence if extreme weather continues. Join us for a symposium as we explore the emergency preparedness of our hospitals and emergency services. What happens during an emergency evacuation? How prepared is Philadelphia for an emergency evacuation of a major medical center…or two?
Speakers will include representatives from the Red Cross, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and NYU Langone Medical Center.
