In the 21st century, as states are being transformed by democratic movements, by the creation of supranational institutions, and by pressures for greater regional autonomy—even secession—constitutions are being newly written or substantially revised in many parts of the world. Combining perspectives from journalism, diplomacy, and scholarship, this international conference explores some of the most fundamental problems and prospects of constitution making today.
