Camp Sojourner is very pleased to invite you to its first-annual 5K walkathon on Saturday, May 4, 2013:
The Sojourner Truth Walk
Inspiring Girls’ & Women’s Leadership!
Saturday, May 4, 2013, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The Sojourner Truth Walk is a 5K walkathon in West Philly named in honor of Sojourner Truth, an African-American woman who escaped slavery and then fought to end it, while also speaking out for women’s rights and economic justice. The finish-line celebration will include dance, poetry, female leaders, and more!
You can register as an individual or team, or simply make a donation to support the event. All walkers are asked to name a woman or girl who they will be walking in honor of.
This is a family-friendly event—all are welcome!
All proceeds benefit Camp Sojourner, Girls’ Leadership Camp and our year-round leadership development programs for Philadelphia girls.
