North Penn United Way Job Description – Director of Resource Development Title: Director of Resource Development Reports to: CEO Type of Position: Full Time/Salaried/Permanent/Exempt
Purpose of Position: The Director of Resource Development for the North Penn United Way provides innovative and strategic leadership for the achievement of all resource development goals.
Resource development goals include: increasing annual fundraising results to reflect market potential, increasing volunteer involvement & ownership in the annual campaign process, increasing revenue from alternative sources outside of the traditional workplace campaign structure, and facilitating aggressive major gift, foundation, and planned giving development.
This senior staff position aggressively positions United Way as a community impact leader and provides overall leadership, vision and focus in creating multi-year resource development strategies to support community impact strategies and goals.
The Director of Resource Development will serve as the principal professional resource for the General Campaign Chair/s & Division Chairs, ADT Chair/s, and affinity group chairs (Emerging Leaders and Woman’s Leadership Council), as well as playing a central role in creating planned giving strategies.
The Director of Resource Development will manage the internal processes needed to ask, retain and thank community investors and develop meaningful year round relationships with donors and volunteers using best practice customer relationship management (CRM) strategies and consultative sales techniques.
