PUBLIC INTEREST LAW CENTER OF PHILADELPHIA—Special Education Administrator Position Available
The Public Interest Law Center of Philadelphia, a nationally-renowned public interest law firm devoted to equality and systemic change, seeks a Special Education Administrator.
The Special Education Administrator will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the Law Center’s special education legal work including: interviewing clients and potential clients; collecting, reviewing and organizing client documents; attending meetings with clients, including IEP meetings; drafting and filing hearing notices and fact sections of briefs; and administrative and secretarial support for the Law Center’s Director of Disability rights. In addition, the individual will provide administrative and secretarial support for the Executive Director and another lawyer.

Candidates should have knowledge of, and interest in, special education law; excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and to track assignments to completion; solid writing skills including the ability to write clearly and to summarize key facts in an organized and coherent manner; excellent people skills including the ability to work with families and children with disabilities, pro bono partners and multiple supervisors.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required as well as a demonstrated capability to learn other programs and tasks quickly; e.g., electronic filing systems, timekeeping software.
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; as associate’s degree is required. .
The position is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The salary and benefits are commensurate with experience.
