After School Mentor, Lutheran Children and Family Service of Eastern Pennsylvania
Posted on: January 2, 2013

Lutheran Children and Family Services in Southeast Pennsylvania seek energetic, compassionate mentors to serve as leaders in our.BOOST– Best Out of School Time – programs for children and teens. Under the supervision of Site Coordinators, group leaders and assistant group leaders are responsible for engaging children from all across PA in strengths-based programming that provides the supports necessary for each child to succeed. Using a “Project-Based Learning (PBL)” approach, students practice academic skills through hands-on exploration of their communities, their environments and their worlds. Past PBLs have included “water-ice mapping and entreprenuership”, “soda-ology”, and “pizza gardens”.

Our goal is to support the growth and development of each child by providing a safe, caring, adult-supervised before and after school environment and to build upon the physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills developed by our children in school. Families enrolled in this program may access the subsidy system to receive assistance in covering the fee.

BOOST is located within the following schools: Anderson, Clara Barton, Finletter, Forrest, Holme, Lowell, Mayfair, Overbrook, Loesche and Shaw.

The hours are 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm Monday through Friday and 7am-8:30 am (you do not have to work both shift you can do after school or before school)

Lutheran Children and Family Service (LCFS) is a non-profit human services organization dedicated to protecting and empowering vulnerable children, youth, and families throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. LCFS is committed to respectfully serving children and families in need, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, and age, country of origin, gender, disability, or sexual orientation.
