Webinars help professionals serve at-risk youth
The Multiple Pathways to Academic Success Project, a project of the Center for Safe Schools, is designed to improve educational outcomes for youth involved in the juvenile justice system, disconnected young people who are out of school or in the foster care system, and youth who are habitually truant or exhibiting disruptive behaviors that demonstrate a likelihood that they will enter the juvenile justice system if proper supports are not in place.
Six free, on-demand virtual sessions explain how professionals can better serve these at-risk youth.
National experts provide insight into the following topics:
* Supporting At-Risk Students: From Enrollment to Graduation and Beyond
* The Importance of Education in Reducing Crime and Delinquency
* Screening and Assessment in the Juvenile Justice Systems: Identifying Mental Health Needs and Risk of Reoffending
* Educating All Children: Addressing the Unmet Needs of Children and Youth in the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Systems
* Providing Individually Tailored Academic and Behavioral Support Services for Youth in the Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Systems
* The Pennsylvania Juvenile Collateral Consequences Checklists
