Community Driven Research Day marks third year

Community Driven Research Day encourages collaboration between researchers, community-based organizations, and community groups. This year’s event theme is Health Literacy, Healthy Weight, and Healthy Behaviors.

The sponsors invite research questions focused on a variety of public health issues linked to health literacy, healthy weight, and healthy behaviors, such as poor eating habits, chronic disease, and violence.  Through an interactive poster session, CBOs and community groups will highlight their questions to program participants from local nonprofits, community groups, and public sector partners, as well as researchers from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Drexel University, and other local academic institutions.

CBOs, community groups, academic researchers, and students will be able to meet and discuss potential, mutually-beneficial research collaborations.  This year’s event will be held on January 24th from 9am to 1pm at Drexel University.

CBOs interested in presenting are encouraged to attend Research Readiness Day on Thursday, December 6th from 9am to 12:30PM at Temple University.  For more information and to register, visit here.
