Posted by on October 22, 2012
The OMG Center is directing the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF)’s national program, New Connections: Increasing Diversity of RWJF Programming. New Connections aims to introduce new early- to mid-career scholars and researchers to the Foundation through research funding and career development opportunities. Scholars should be currently working in fields related to health and health care and members of historically underrepresented groups.
The OMG Center (http://www.omgcenter.org), a Philadelphia based nonprofit organization, supports innovative solutions to the challenges facing communities through evaluation, strategic research and planning, and philanthropic services. OMG works nationally with organizations, individually and collectively, in the nonprofit, foundation and governmental sectors. Areas of established expertise include public health and healthcare, pre-k-12 and higher education, arts and culture, children, youth and families, community and regional development, electronic media policy, and the environment.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) located in Princeton, NJ, is the nation’s largest philanthropy devoted exclusively to health and health care. For 40 years the Foundation has brought its experience, commitment and a rigorous, balanced approach to the problems that affect the health and health care of all Americans. RWJF works with a dedicated group of diverse individuals and organizations to support programs that have measurable impact and create meaningful and timely change.
The project coordinator is a professional staff member who will work with RWJF New Connections program staff and staff members of the OMG Center to ensure successful implementation of the New Connections program. This includes program and grant monitoring, conducting program-related research, and evaluating proposals. The project coordinator is expected to demonstrate a passionate commitment to the mission of the New Connections program, which is to increase the diversity of perspectives informing RWJF programming and support a broad network of diverse scholars.
