West Phila Skills Initiative Connect to Success program

The West Philadelphia Skills Center for Economic Advancement (WPSCEA) is now accepting applications for the next session of our Connect to Success program. This program informs, prepares and connects West Philadelphians to job opportunities with UCD’s employer partners. You will gain skill in financial literacy and work readiness as well as have access to benefits screenings that will support your rapid connection to employment and a better financial future for you and your family.

PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES

YOU MUST BE:
Unemployed or under-employed (earning $9.00 per hour or less)

– A resident of West Philadelphia (as defined by zip codes 19104, 19131, 19139, 19143, 19151)
– A high school graduate (high school diploma or GED)
– Able to commit to 4 weeks of training, 5 days a week, 6 hours per day
– MOTIVATED to achieve long term success

THIS PROGRAM IS FOR YOU!

PROGRAM COMPONENTS:

Financial Literacy Training

– Work Readiness Skills
– Income Benefits Screening
– Preferential Candidate Status with our Employer Partners
– Continued access to one-on-one Job and Financial Coaching for 6 months after the program

To learn more about the program, please join us at one of our 1 hour information sessions on Wednesday, October 24 (1-2pm) or Tuesday, October 30 (10-11am). All information sessions will be held at Community College of Philadelphia – West, 4725 Chestnut Street.

You must RSVP to 267-299-5849 to be admitted to a session. Sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be available at the information session and at University City District’s office at 3940 Chestnut Street.
