Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy Invites Nominations for Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Awards
Deadline: December 4, 2008
The Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy’s (http://www.corporatephilanthropy.org/) Excellence in Corporate Philanthropy Awards are presented annually to companies demonstrating outstanding CEO leadership, innovation, dedication to measurement, and partnership in corporate philanthropy.
Two corporate awards are presented each year — one to a company with annual revenues greater than $3 billion, and one to a company with revenues less than $3 billion. CECP also offers the Directors’ Award to recognize a distinguished nonprofit organization that has built a highly effective corporate partnership. The Directors’ Award includes a $25,000 cash donation made by CECP directors to the winning nonprofit.
Eligibility for the corporate awards is limited to businesses in the private sector. Companies may be publicly or privately held, and applications are encouraged from all industry sectors, geographical regions, and workforce sizes. Applications must be submitted by the legal global corporate entity; applications from subsidiaries, member companies, or other constituents will not be accepted. However, the specific program featured in the application may be directly tied to a subsidiary, member company, or other constituent.
For the Directors’ Award, nonprofits must be nominated by one company for a partnership program that will continue into 2009. Companies may submit nominations for up to two nonprofits. The nonprofit must have an annual operating budget equal to or exceeding $500,000. Nominees are restricted to U.S.-based nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status under the Internal Revenue Code that are working through active programs to improve the well-being of society at large and/or domestic and international communities.
Visit the CECP Web site for complete program information.
