Friends Hospice seeks volunteers
Friends Hospice cares for individuals and families facing terminal illness. There are volunteer opportunities that require as few as two to three hours per month or as much as half-time, or even full-time work.
Friends Hospice prefers a one to two-year commitment from volunteers, but is flexible. For those interested in participating in direct patient care, a 20-hour training course is required. Hours could range from daytime to the evening, depending on the volunteer work.
Volunteers are needed for community education and outreach, general office support, assistance with fundraising and public relations efforts, bereavement support, and support of hospice participants and their loved ones (running errands, preparing light meals, staying with a person to give family members a break, and lending emotional support and companionship).
