Kindergarteners Longitudinal Study
The National Center for Education Statistics has released First-Time Kindergartners in 2010-11: First Findings From the Kindergarten Rounds of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2010-1, containing findings from a longitudinal study of kindergarteners attending public and private schools in the US. The authors found that 25 percent of kindergarteners lived in households below the poverty line. The data will enable researchers to study how a wide range of family, school, community, and individual factors are associated with educational, socio-emotional, and physical development over time.
