IDAAY Founders Day Banquet

Institute for the Development of African-American Youth, Inc (IDAAY) is pleased to announce our 21st Annual Founder’s Day Banquet, “Celebrating Our Youth and Families”, which will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, from 4pm to 8pm, at Belmont Mansion, 2000 Belmont Mansion Dr., in Philadelphia.

Tickets are $20.00 (non-refundable) and can be purchased on our website at  http://www.idaay.org.  If you cannot attend our celebration, please consider sponsoring an IDAAY youth or family with your $20.00 donation.

Founder’s Day is our primary fund raiser for the year, and is essential for providing funding for programs not covered by grants such as our MAIN College Bound program, our 4 Brothers catering program and our work with non-adjudicated youth.

This special day will honor IDAAY youth who have successfully graduated from our programs, and for their academic and community service achievements. This year’s event will feature a buffet style banquet prepared by 4 Brothers, live music by the Philadelphia Clef Club Youth Jazz Ensemble, dancing, and other entertaining activities.

IDAAY’s mission is to empower at-risk youth to succeed through providing education, intervention and parenting support services. We are recognized as a national model for urban youth development and have received both local and national acclaim for the success of our programs:

IDAAY currently operates the only gun violence prevention program in Pennsylvania;
90% of our MAIN College-Bound program graduates go on to pursue college or post-secondary education;
Less than 5% of our Don’t Fall Down in the Hood program youth recidivate within four years of completing the program;
After completing our Young Fathers United program, 85% of fathers show a marked increase in positive parental involvement.

Since our founding in 1991, IDAAY has provided services to more than 20,000 youth and their families, residing in some of the highest risk neighborhoods in Philadelphia.
