Youth Development & Civic Engagement Workshop
Recruitment, Engagement, Retention!
These are the three biggest challenges for programs serving older youth ( 13 and up). Come and explore programmatic strategies for addressing these challenges. Through hands on activities, this workshop will examine the idea of successful practices in terms of adult provider perspectives and those of the youth we serve. Are we on the same page? If not, how do we get there? Incorporating the principles and theories of youth leadership development, civic engagement and youth empowerment, participants will learn how to create integrative spaces that foster meaningful interactions with, and opportunities for, older youth. In the process, we will also learn how to link organizational goals to effective youth outcomes creating win-win situations for all.
