Now Accepting Teaching Applications for the 2012-2013 School Year!!
The award winning, Green Woods Charter School, recognized by Philadelphia Magazine as a top city school for innovation and academic excellence, is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year.
The mission of Green Woods Charter School is to provide children in grades K through 8 with the opportunity to be active, knowledgeable and conscientious young investigators by fostering a keen understanding of the interrelatedness and interdependence of our local and global existence.
Green Woods Charter School is projecting the need for teaching positions in grades K-3. These are certified positions.
Interested candidates must submit a resume, cover letter, current PA teaching certification, all applicable clearances, and three letters of recommendation.
Responsibilities
Develop effective lesson plans, homework assignments and assessments that align with state standards.
Effectively and consistently deliver high-quality, standards based instruction.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to differentiate instruction and adjust instructional strategies to meet student needs.
Demonstrate the ability to teach integrated, cross-curricular lessons.
Exhibit a passion for environmental education is desired.
Qualifications
Two-three years elementary level experience as a lead teacher preferred
PA certification in elementary education
A strong belief in teaching a standards based curriculum
Motivated, self starter with an entrepreneurial attitude
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with parents
Ability to work in a collaborative and professional team setting
Personal accountability for student achievement
Starting salary is 40,000 and non-negotiable. No phone calls please. Successful candidates will be contacted in early March.
