The Trust for Public Land, a national non-profit organization dedicated to conserving land for people to enjoy as parks, gardens and other natural places, has an opening in its soon-to-be-opened office in Philadelphia, PA for an Associate Director of Philanthropy. This job will be responsible for 1) Identification, cultivation, solicitation and management of individual major gift donors and foundations; 2) working on local conservation campaigns as they arise; and 3) working with Advisory Board members, other volunteers and staff to leverage TPL’s projects and programs for philanthropic purposes.
Requirements include: 4+ years fund-raising experience, including major and annual individual gift solicitations; proficiency with donor databases; experience in writing grant proposals; experience staffing volunteer boards; availability to travel (usually locally); and knowledge of the Philadelphia philanthropic market. Knowledge of or experience with an environmental or land conservation organization is a plus.
