Cal for Proposals: Service-Learning in Teacher Education
Posted by on January 02, 2012
The International Center for Service-Learning in Teacher Education (ICSLTE) is pleased to announce its call for proposals for the third international conference Conversations that Matter: Research, Policy, and Practice. The conference will be held June 21-23, 2012 at Duke University.
We seek proposals that address work for the common good through academic learning and active civic engagement. We seek presenters who envision service-learning as a necessary component of teacher education, both pre-service (educating new teachers) and in-service (ongoing professional development for practicing employed teachers). We will select proposals that provide research-based insights, reflect critically on issues of policy and practice, and raise important questions for international discussion.
Proposals must be submitted by 9pm, PST January 6, 2012 and will be reviewed by an international committee of teacher educators, classroom teachers, and students. Notification of acceptance will be on or before February 10, 2012.
