Online Toolkit Provides Resources and Lessons for Health Plans to Reduce Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care
For more than 20 years, research has documented the persistent gaps in health care quality that disproportionately affect Americans from specific racial and ethnic backgrounds. A new toolkit released by the National Health Plan Collaborative provides resources, lessons, case studies, and videos to help health plans identify and reduce disparities within their memberships. The National Health Plan Collaborative, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), the Center for Health Care Strategies and the RAND Corporation, released the toolkit at AHRQ’s 2008 annual conference.
